Challenge:

Split the group and create an individualized, funny and active program. Client would like to offer guests an intimate visit of the city and merge them with locals. All the groups should visit the same sites without meeting each other and using different vehicles during the day (with exception of regular motor coaches).

Realization:

  1. Split the main group into 5 groups of 30 persons.
  2. Sites to be visited: Corcovado, Rocinha Community, Downtown, Santa Tereza district, Cathedral and local fruit/vegetable market. 
  3. We had to use “regular” restaurants (restaurant not usually used by tourists) and offer typical dishes.
  4. We had a staff of 5 guides + 15 coordinators, all with walkie-talkies, to assure the perfect run of the operation. The guides would go with the group and coordinators would be on strategic places.
  5. Vehicles used: regular taxis, regular buses (chartered exclusively for the group), jeeps, bikes, helicopters (including 7 minutes over flight of the city), van, cogwheel and tramway.
  6. Additional activities: on the regular buses, “locals” would be inside and interact with passengers, playing samba.
  7. The program was very successful. None of the groups met during the tour, they all rode all the above mentioned vehicles, visited mentioned site in a unique way. The program was totally unexpected and guests had a great and unforgettable time.
