BRATISLAVA - the Capital of the little big country
Slovakia has always been closely linked to the Czech republic, with a rich common history, and forming even a single country from 1918 to 1992. Since its independence in 1992, 3 years after the Velvet revolution, Slovakia has enjoyed a rapid economic growth, entering the European Union in 2004 at the same time as the Czech Republic and adopting the Euro currency since January 2009. Also part of the Schengen countries since 2008, Slovakia is an alternative destination to be discovered for the MICE business.
