Father Christmas appeared amidst a show of lights, coulours and special effects high above the sea!  To the sound of Christmas carols he entered the Port of St Tropez on his magical cloud which resembled a creation of crystal and ice…

The finale of the show was a spectacular Firework display before Father Christmas descended onto the docks to great the children and adults waiting there to welcome him despite the wind and cold weather!

Remembering Fromelles - Gone but not forgotten...

LIBERTY FRANCE is very proud to have taken part in the organisation of the ceremony REMEMBERING FROMELLES on the 19th July this year with the presence of Prince Charles, the Duke of Kent and the Governor-General of Australia.

The Battle of Fromelles remained a largely-forgotten episode of World War I for decades, mainly remembered by families of the hundreds of British and Australian soldiers slaughtered in just a few hours on 19th and 20th July 1916.  About 1,700 British servicemen and more than 5,500 Australian soldiers lost their lives in the two-day battle. 94 years after soldiers were killed the last of 250 British and Australian World War I troops recovered from mass graves was reburied with full military honours in Fromelles on July 19th and relatives of those killed during the battle paid tribute to their family members.

LIBERTY FRANCE was responsible for the logistics that enabled the 5000 expected guests to reach the small village of Fromelles whether they were coming by train, bus or private car – including the creation of a Park & Ride car park for over 1500 cars, shuttles to and from Lille and on site assistance and coordination.  It was a moving event for all that took part…
