Over 2000 participants bring the story of Jesus of Nazareth to the ears and eyes of the audience in a five-hour presentation on the imposing open-air stage. Almost half of the inhabitants of Oberammergau enact with great devotion the story of Jesus whose message gives billions of people hope and strength. The play covers the period of Jesus entering Jerusalem and continues up to his death on the cross and his resurrection.

The Munich Oktoberfest – known by locals as the „Wiesn“ – will take place for the 176th time in 2009. It is a Sixteen day festival held each year in Munich, during late September and running to early October. It is one of the most famous events in the city and the world's largest fair, with about six million people attending every year, and is an enjoyable event with an important part of Bavarian culture.
Reservations for the upcoming Oktoberfest start in the 1st Quarter of 2010.

20th anniversary fall of the Berlin Wall - 2009 is the 20th anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution and the fall of the Berlin Wall. These events triggered drastic changes around the world, marking the end of the Cold War and of the division of Europe. Three events will form the highlights of this special year:
The open-air exhibition 'Peaceful Revolution' in respect of the events of 1989/90 taking place at Alexanderplatz, the exhibition 'Perspectives – 20 Years of a Changing Berlin', which will highlight the developments in Berlin since 1989 and, on the 9th of November 2009, the eyes of the whole world will be on Berlin and the spectacular 'Festival of Freedom' at the Brandenburg Gate.

The 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards will take place in Berlin on 5th November 2009. Not only was Berlin the site of the very first Europe Music Awards back in 1994, but 2009 also marks the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. What better way to celebrate such a historic symbol of freedom than with a night of amazing music and winners that are chosen…by you! The 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards will be held in front of the Brandenburg Gate as well as at the brand new state-of-the-art O2 World Arena in Berlin. See you then! |

The Berlin hotel landscape has a further newcomer, the Spanish Abba chain opened its first hotel in Berlin, the Abba Hotel Berlin just a step away from the famous boulevard Kurfuerstendamm. The opening already started in August 2009, about one month earlier then originally planned. The contemporary designed hotel has 216 rooms with a high standards of comfort, with all the services and facilities for a pleasant stay. The style is combining elegance and sophistication with modern facilities.
