SEA, LAKES, MOUNTAINS & SPAS

For hundreds and hundreds of years people have travelled around Italy; Pilgrims first, headed to Rome (the catholic capital), then noble men and wealthy people on the “Grand Tour” to discovery of the ancient legacy and the renaissance exquisiteness, learned to appreciate not only the cultural splendour of this country but also the exceptional beauty of the landscape.
The ALPS, among the most beautiful mountain region in the world, with the highest mountain in Europe (Monte Bianco/Mont Blanc), that covers a good part of the territory are a tremendous source of winter and summer (usually NOT early spring and autumn) activities. In winter of course the main activity is the skiing. During the summer the variety increases a lot with activities like paragliding & hang-gliding, hiking(Rookie and Pro.), mountain climbing, rafting and canoeing, Glacier skiing, Glacier climbing and more.
Even though it is not part of the alps, the ETNA Volcano still merits to be mentioned as it is one of the most active volcano on earth. With just a bit of luck it is not difficult to see its famous scenographic eruptions from quite close (the top can be reached by special 4 wheel drive vehicles).
Being a very high volcano ( mt 3350) in the winter it is even possible to ski on it! During summer on this volcano is particularly indicated for “Team Buildings” & special excursions.
The SEA, being a peninsula Italy has more then 7000 km (approx 4500 miles) of coast line and beaches! Crystal clear sea water, especially in Sardinia where all the VIPS (actors, football players, politicians) spend their summers. Sardinia also has excellent conference facilities & structures to arrange meetings. Many beaches are wide enough to host also special and sandy “Team Buildings”
The LAKES are many, some have Volcanic origin, of various size and shape. Most of the lakes are nestled in breathtaking scenarios.
Especially in the northern part, between Turin and Venice there are quite a few big lakes and in particular the lake MAGGIORE, the lake of COMO and the lake of GARDA, with a ample number of hotels and structures. These locations are ideal for the sailing lovers and particularly indicated for meetings, conventions and special events like car launches, but also incentives are very successful here.
The SPAS. Italy is mainly a volcanic territory therefore natural SPA are scattered almost everywhere in the central and South part of the territory. Already in ancient times, and especially the Romans learned to make use of the benefits of those thermal waters (it is said that the word “SPA” is a Latin abbreviation for Salus per Aquam but this appear to be only a urban legend). Today many hotels and structures offer a wide range of treatments (including meeting facilities) for the wellness of the body and the spirit.
The hospitality tradition in Italy goes back in time quite a while, thanks to the natural beauty that this country offer.
