TEAM BUILDING

         Client: Global boxing company.
         Origin: U.K.
         Participants: employees
         Number: 60 persons

Location:

Gubbio (near Perugia)

Challenge:

To create a team building where the different teams were put in competition that were articulated in more tasks.

Focus was on the work as a team and capability of organization among the staff (from different departments within the company)  where no clear leader would prevail on the individuals capabilities and efforts.

Realization:

  1. Participants walked over the park adjacent the hotel where they found all the material they needed for the competition, still in boxes, laid on the ground for each team in a random and uncompleted order (different for each team) with instructions of what were required from them.
  2. First they had to un-wrap the goods and divide it in a tidy fashion in separated clusters depending to which final object they belonged to.
  3. Using the assembling manual/instructions they had to understand what piece was missing to complete the object.
  4. Find the antagonist team that had the required item in surplus and negotiate the handover.
  5. Building a garage/box were they would afterword complete the following task
  6. Assemble a “go kart”
  7. Race with the assembled “go kart” powered by one or more “human engines” on a racetrack drawn out on the park’s grass!
  8. Marshals followed each team throughout each session of the game and awarded points according to a pre-settled scoring system.
  9. During the gala dinner arranged in a local Castle the chief of the company’s department (with the aid of the marshals) rewarded with a prize the winning team giving his comments on how each team behaved and pointing out where errors were made or where a particularly collaboration gave good results for which the team benefited.
